There is no one way to define oneself, the definition changes from moment to moment. Likewise, it is possible to be a creator, nothing less and nothing more, one who can exist in any material, shape or form. The refusal to be categorized and identified by one subject is becoming increasingly common. Why has the habit of working across fields been unusual for so long? Was the need to be categorized purely economic? The renaissance of being skilled in many talents and a master of not only one begins to lead the way and becomes more of the norm than an exception.
Each of these people, two acting as a group, Azur, and two others working as individuals, have found their path not through training in their trades but by eating and digesting what they see and uncover around them. All of them are self-taught in their current ways and consider the past. Over time they have found their own path and practice. Confident enough to not need definition, operating with a desire of how to practice rather than what to practice; coming to a material first and a medium second.
They are friends offering each other support. Sarah Espeute draws using the precise art of embroidery and discovered painting on her own. It’s incredible how she bounces between the two, one being incredibly precise, the other free.
Léa Bigot, I assumed had trained as a ceramicist, but rather, she found the medium literally in a dream. Instead of being bound by knowledge and convention, she treats clay in the manner of wood or stone. Azur, Lisa Favreau and Lisa Guedel-Dolle, work in an ethical way, with materials they appreciate and their own forms, building their enterprise through collaborations as a way to express their principles and beliefs. In doing such they have created a fully sustainable line of articles, well thought, with meaning and beauty.
The group has something in common, each looks to create something timeless that just is and can not be defined. None of them dictate how or when to use their objects and all of them believe one should have less things that can act as more things. They are unbound, using the past to call the future. It answers.

Il n’y a pas une seule façon de se définir, la définition change d’un moment à l’autre. De même, il est possible d’être un créateur, rien de moins et rien de plus, celui qui peut exister dans n’importe quel matériau, forme ou forme. Le refus d’être catégorisé et identifié par un seul sujet devient de plus en plus courant. Pourquoi l’habitude de travailler dans plusieurs domaines est-elle inhabituelle depuis si longtemps? Tous sont autodidactes à leur manière actuelle et considèrent le passé. Au fil du temps, ils ont trouvé leur propre chemin et leur propre pratique. Assez confiant pour ne pas avoir besoin de définition, fonctionnant avec le désir de savoir comment pratiquer plutôt que quoi pratiquer; venir à un matériau d’abord et un second moyen.
Ils sont amis qui se soutiennent mutuellement. Sarah Espeute dessine en utilisant l’art précis de la broderie et découvre la peinture par elle-même. C’est incroyable comme elle rebondit entre les deux, l’un étant incroyablement précis, l’autre libre.

Le groupe a quelque chose en commun, chacun cherche à créer quelque chose d’intemporel qui est juste et ne peut pas être défini. Aucun d’eux ne dicte comment ou quand utiliser leurs objets et tous pensent qu’il faut avoir moins de choses qui peuvent agir comme plus de choses. Ils ne sont pas liés, utilisant le passé pour appeler l’avenir. Cela répond.
